My tweets basically about sharing links, news and other interesting/funny things on the web. Since I am myself an active twitterer, I use a lot of twitter apps. But then, I found I thing that I did not like in most of the apps - that is I need to enter my twitter password. Entering twitter password on unknown third-party site is not a good idea in protecting your identity. Then, I found some of the apps using this OAuth login. It so easy, they just directed you back to twitter then you just need to click "Allow" to give the third-party app access to your twitter account - plus without the need to expose your twitter password of course. This method be known as "Twitter Connect" or also as "
Sign in with Twitter" logins.
While OAuth login method
has been introduce by Twitter officially, not all of the application are using it. Rarely to find those great twitter apps provide such kind of easy and secure authentication. Then I found myself to be the one that should promote the OAuth thing.
From a blog, it became a directory listing site. Further it was converted to be a Twitter Apps Gallery with a nicer interface. It is known as "
TwitOAuth", currently listing more than 200 twitter applications and website that seriously concern about your privacy by providing login with twitter or also known as "Twitter OAuth".
